Kirsten Green
Kirsten has been offering her holistic and bodywork therapies for over 12 years, running her private clinic from her home in Leith, Edinburgh. Renowned for her skills in bodywork including all forms of massage, KCR, CTR and fascial work, she is also fully qualified in Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching, specialising in the release and processing of trauma.
Kirsten also offers Sound Immersion Classes based in Leith and Edinburgh and is a Reiki Master.
Joanne Tavern
Joanne started her professional journey into Holistic Medicine in 1998 when she qualified as an Advanced Clinical Aromatherapist and Reflexologist. Working in both her own private home clinic and in Palliative care, she soon added other modalities to her skillset.
More recently Sound and Energy Therapies have become her passion and Joanne has created a Healing Temple at her Therapy centre at her home. Here she offers private sessions and classes in sound and energy sessions, but also continues to offer her other therapies.
About Us
Our Story
Kirsten and Joanne met in 2014 while working together in a completely unrelated part time job, but it soon became obvious that we shared a passion for helping others overcome illness and trauma. Remaining simply friends and swapping treatments for many years, we often joked about how we should start a business together. This then started to become a more serious discussion as we realised that there was a distinct lack of therapists giving the quality and compassionate treatments that we offer to our clients. We were also aware that we could only help so many people just ourselves as single therapists.
After working for other schools in a tutorial role, we realised that the only way to be truly offering the courses and content that we were happy with was to set up our own teaching college. Therefore in October 2022 the Universal School of Holistic Therapies was founded and has now become one of Central Scotland's leading centres for training Holistic Practitioners. Accredited to both the Complementary Medical Association and the Guild of Holistic Therapists, we now offer a wide range of Certified Professional Courses in many Holistic Modalities.
