I have been a fully qualified Clinical Aromatherapist , Massage Therapist and Reflexologist for over 25 years.  I have worked in a variety of clinic settings, rehabilitation and palliative care, and  I now run my own private clinic based in Central Scotland. 

I continued my professional development by adding Indian Head Massage and Metamorphic technique, and more recently I have taken a great interest in the immense power of Energy Healing. As such in 2019 I qualified in Reiki, and is now a Reiki Master and able to pass on attunements to other therapists.  

Sound Healing Therapies have become a passion and after many years of study with a variety of experts in their field,  I am qualified in Sonic Aura Therapy, Sound Massage and Sound Therapy.  During the Covid Pandemic I used my additional free time to take my studies further gaining further qualifications in Sound and Energy Healing, as well as qualifying as a Life Coach.

I have always felt that each client is an individual and will present requiring different modalities on each occasion.  I therefore feel that some of the best healing is achieved when the treatment combines whichever modality is suited to the client on the day. My bespoke treatment options are therefore extremely popular and don't be surprised if you book in for one modality, but another one or more is suggested instead or in addition to what you were expecting.

I myself have undergone a massive healing journey so I can empathise fully with my clients. Having had a life changing accident in 1995 which required major reconstructive surgery over many years, I am fully aware how physical and emotional trauma can have a profound effect on the mind, body and soul. However I am also living proof that many healing obstacles can be overcome when the correct treatment plan is put in place and an holistic view is approached.

When I'm not working I love to spend time in the outdoors and I am avid Open Water and Ice Swimmer.  I  just love being out in nature and connecting to Mother Earth, and as such my passion for gardening, which has been passed down over many generations is now being put to good use in my healing garden.  Here I aim to grow as much natural food as possible for myself and my family, as well as nurturing healing plants that can be harnessed for their energetic properties. 

All of my treatments are carried out in my spa therapy room, attached to my home, or in the Healing Temple at the bottom of the garden in the beautiful countryside of Blackness.  There is free parking in my yard and the spa room is accessed by entering the garden and heading to the rear left.  You will  see the  glass door on the decked area and clients are welcome to sit and relax in my healing garden after the treatment.

Therapies on offer include:

Clinical Aromatherapy - Incorporates a full body massage using custom blended essential oils. A thorough consultation will be taken to determine the ideal blend for you and any ailments presenting. Will also include a blended oil for home use.

75 minutes - £60

Holistic Facial - A full facial including cleanse, tone, exfoliate, mask and moisturise.  Products will be selected to suit your skin type and we use a range of brands such as Neal's Yard Remdies, Espa, Elemis, Simply Beautiful Cosmetics, as well as our own blended facial oils.  The treatment will also incorporate energy healing, acupressure and crystal therapy.  Depending on the length of the treatment you will also be treated to scalp, hand and arm or foot massage while the products are doing their work.

45 minutes - £40       1 hour - £50      75 minutes - £60

Reflexology - A system of energy healing based on stimulating key reflex points on the feet. Ancient traditions believe that each part of our body is reflected and imprinted onto key areas of the foot, creating a body map within our feet.  These are connected to the rest of the body via meridians or energy channels, and thus if we stimulate these points it can elicit a healing response within the body. A gentle, relaxing treatment with powerful benefits and effects where you simply lie back and enjoy the powerful massage and acupressure techniques.

1 hour - £45

Holistic Massage - Swedish therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage and fascia release techniques to loosen tight muscles or relax tense areas. Choose from Full Body, Legs, Back, Neck and Shoulders, Scalp - price is based on time required and the treatment can be tailored to suit the individual.  Hot stones/crystals can also be added on request

Reiki Energy Healing

Using the power of universal energy the therapist will help to activate the body and mind's own power of healing and transformation. Based on ancient techniques, this powerful but deeply relaxing treatment can produce some amazing results.

Life Coaching

Do you need a bit of assistance during a difficult time in your life, or are you at a crossroads and unsure where to turn?  Life coaching can help you to unlock the answers and find solutions that are client led.  Using a friendly, empathetic approach, Jo will assist you to move forward with any issues you may be experiencing.  Having recovered from abuse, trauma, medical and mental issues, we can help to give an understanding of your situation and help you to feel empowered, motivated and at peace. For all coaching we offer an initial short discovery session free of charge to see if Jo's approach is right for you.  This initial session normally lasts 20-30 minutes and can take place over the phone or in person.

One to One Sound Therapy and Sonic Aura Cleansing

Using the powerful energetic healing capabilities of Sound, your biofield, aura and the chakras around your body will be checked for blockages and issues stored there from past traumas.  Using the various sound tools including tuning forks, singling bowls and chimes, we use their energetic vibrations to release these blockages and bring the chakras into balance.  A deeply relaxing and powerful treatment, great changes can be brought about in your physical, emotional and mental well being.

60 min full treatment - £45

Ear Candling 

Ancient techniques are used in a modern, safe format to help release discomfort from ear and sinus pressure. A relaxing treatment that also includes facial acupressure.

30 min - £30

Please note that for all treatments new clients will require additional time for the first treatment in order to take a comprehensive history of any medical conditions. There is no charge for this extra time required.

I run regular Sound Immersion sessions from my purpose built healing temple here at Universal Holistics.  This beautifully relaxing and healing space has been designed and created to allow you to fully immerse yourself in the healing frequencies of sounds, crystals and positive energy.  Comfortable relaxers, cosy blankets and subdued lighting make this a truly inviting and special place.

Sound Immersion and meditation classes combine guided meditation with the relaxing frequencies from the vast range of quality sound tools I have invested in.  With a huge variety of Himalayan/Tibetan bowls, Crystal Chakra Bowls, Crystal Pyramids, Crystal Chalices, Gongs, Drums and Chimes, I believe I can offer a truly unique blended sound experience in a setting energetically aligned to the purpose. The classes also usually involve some reiki, postural energetics, breathwork, and other relaxation techniques.  Refreshments and chat time are then shared at the end of the class to allow you to ground before having to leave.
